This leaflet makes clear the gross error the government has committed in raising taxes on low earning people without children. And all so Gordon Brown could score a political point over the Conservatives in last year's budget.
I remember how Brown droned through his budget only to finish with a flourish "and I propose to reduce the basic rate of income tax by 2p" designed to knock David Cameron off his stride. Over the next couple of days it became clear who was paying for this cheap "we can cut taxes even if you can't" stunt. The low paid of course. read more »

Margot James, Conservative Candidate for Stourbridge, expressed concern at new figures which warn that 5 million families across Britain could be at risk of defaulting on mortgage payments and losing their home.
The analysis, credit rating agency Experian uses data from credit agencies, shows that nearly 7000 households in Stourbridge have a "sub-prime loan exposure", and may be now struggling with debt. read more »
