Margot supports record hospice fundraiser
31st August 2009
Every August bank holiday weekend Chris, publican and owner of the Crown in Pedmore, organises an activity day to raise money for the Mary Stevens Hospice.
The Pub’s car park is given over to face painting, live music, a bouncy castle, wonderful cake and food stalls and an enormous Tombola. Margot helped on the Tombola selling tickets and greeting players, some of whom just kept coming back to play time and time again. So it was a wonderful way of meeting everyone.
It was a great social occasion. Despite the weather the day was well attended and enjoyed by hundreds of local residents. Councillors Les Jones and Karen Shakespeare, along with other Crown regulars, put huge amounts of time in both before and on the day to making the event a success.
And a success it was, despite the straightened times the money raised broke all previous records making almost £9000 for the Hospice.
