Margot mentors students at Stourbridge College

New term, new team. In fact two teams are entering Young Enterprise from the College this year. They have both got good ideas, a nutritional product for children and schools from one team, and a conservation project from the other. Both areas are interests of mine so I am looking forward to helping them build a decent product and turn a profit.
It’s a bit like X factor in that at first you see a group of 20 students and then as the weeks go by you get to know them as individuals and spot the talent. Like joint MD, Julie, who makes sure that everyone on the team takes at least one action from the meetings. And Pardeep, aka Paddy, who understands quite instinctively that unless you construct realistic financial projections you can’t expect anyone to invest. I’ve met people with years of experience who can’t grasp that one so I’m impressed!
