Margot James launches Tiffin Cup in Stourbridge
5th July 2010
Margot James has launched the quest for the best South Asian restaurant in the Stourbridge constituency. Over the next three weeks, Margot will be accepting nominations from local restaurants who could go on to win the Tiffin Cup.
The Tiffin Cup is an annual event organised by a cross-party group of Members of Parliament known as the Tiffin Club. Each MP can nominate one South Asian restaurant from their constituency to go through to a regional final. The winners then attend a Grand Final cook-in at Bellamy's Restaurant in the Houses of Parliament which is presided over by TV Chef Ainsley Harriott.
At the same time money is raised for charity and this year the charity is 'World Vision' which works globally to speak out for children affected by injustice and poverty.
Restaurants can be nominated by either filling in an online form on Margot’s website, www.margotjames.com or posting a nomination to Margot at the House of Commons.
Margot said: “We have a large number of excellent South Asian restaurants in Stourbridge. This is a great way of promoting local businesses and South Asian food.”
